White House locked down after drone flown over grounds

A US man has been detained after attempting to fly a drone over the White House.
The White House was put into lockdown mode yesterday about 2pm local time (about 4am AEST) after the drone hovered over the north side of the grounds and Secret Service agents quickly descended on the scene.
A man has been detained, with local media reporting he was tackled to the ground by agents.
The device was confiscated and CNN has reported the remote-controlled device was about a foot long.
President Barack Obama was not at home at the time. He is meeting with Gulf Cooperation Council leaders at Camp David today.
In January, a government employee accidentally crashed a quad-copter into a tree on the White House lawn, triggering a similar response.
