In this video, performer Nigel "Docta Gel" Dunkley, or rather Mr Dunkley's dummy, leads by example.

Mr Dunkley plays the reluctant lothario and his puppet is the initiator who can't help but play cupid.

"Come here! I'm talkin' to you!" the puppet says, engaging female passengers in conversation.

"She's cute. You like her? Get her number! Get her number! STOOPID!"

Together, the two manage to get two phone numbers – or so they claim – and have an entire New York subway train in stitches, showing you all it takes sometimes is a little back up.
