Panicked shoppers flee US shopping after gunshots fired

US police are hunting a gunman after reports of a shooting in a shopping centre in North Carolina.
Police were called to the Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh and had put the centre in lockdown, news network WRAL reports.

A video posted on Twitter by a witness shows screaming crowds rushing out of the centre.
Another witness told ABC11 she was in the food court when she heard "something pop" and then "pandemonium broke out."
The witness said she "played dead" with her kids before someone told her to get out of the centre.
The shots are not believed to have caused any injuries and police are still hunting for the gunman, Fox News reports.
