US driver tries to run down cameraman

A disgruntled US driver has tried to run down a film crew after accusing them of filming on his "driveway".

Los-Angeles based photographer Alex Stone was standing on the side of a desolate road in Ramona, California when a man in a 4WD pulled up and demanded they get off his driveway.

Despite the crew standing on what appears to be a paved, marked public road, the driver insists Stone and his crew were on his private road.

When the crew told the driver they would just be a few minutes longer the driver became agitated and spun his vehicle around.

Before they could reach for their equipment the driver accelerated at the pair, stopping only inches away from hitting Mr Stone.

"A guy tried to run me over today," he wrote in a Facebook post.

"In the past 10 years of shooting cars nothing like this has every happened."

The driver continued this dangerous manoeuvre several times before getting out of his car and confronting one of the men.

Mr Stone, who tried to diffuse the situation, was hit by the driver who knocked his phone of his hands.
