US driver bizarrely jumps from moving car and lets it roll into oncoming traffic

A US driver has been caught on dashcam jumping from her moving car before casually walking off and letting it roll into oncoming traffic.

A YouTube user uploaded a copy of the video and shared it to Reddit, claiming the incident happened in Orange County in California on Tuesday.

In the two-minute video, the woman can be seen driving erratically over the road before she suddenly brakes, jumps out of the car and casually strolls off down the road.

The car, a 2010 Hyundai Sonata, continued down the road before it mounted a median strip and crossed into oncoming traffic, where it collided with a van and a second vehicle.

The drivers of the two vehicles suffered only minor injuries, The Sun reports.

The woman, who has been identified as 22-year-old Jasmine Lacey, was taken to hospital for non-injury related reasons.

“(Ms Lacey) was later contacted and identified at St. Jude Medical Center facility and, after investigation of the traffic collision, was arrested for DUI,” a California Highway Patrol officer said.

Ms Lacey was released from custody yesterday due to insufficient evidence to support a criminal complaint.
