Overwhelmed toddler feels rain for first time

A 15-month-old girl in the US has been left in awe after feeling rain for the very first time.

Kayden Byon's adorable moment was captured on camera by her older sister Nicole outside their California home in December.

The toddler, who was clearly overwhelmed by the rare rain shower, tottered around her front yard with her arms outstretched.

At one point she turns back to her mother and screams "wow".

When Kayden is eventually carried back into the house, she wriggles free and runs back out into the rain.

California is currently in the midst of a severe drought and reportedly hasn't experienced a dry period like this for about 500 years, Atmos News reports.

The video was uploaded to Ms Byon's Vimeo page this week.
