Thief's tears caught on camera

Smile, you're on camera.

A thief in the US certainly didn't heed these instructions, instead seen bursting into tears when he realised his robbery was being recorded.

Police in the state of Georgia are currently on the hunt for the man who attempted to rob the Days Inn hotel early Monday morning local time armed with a handgun.

Surveillance vision shows the man entering the building and threatening the female receptionist.

During the robbery he looks up and sees himself on camera.

The man threatens the receptionist, saying he'd "use the gun" if she didn't give him the keys to the safe and access to the security vision.

The clerk tells him she doesn't have the keys and doesn't know how to work the vision.

The man, frustrated, can be seen leaving the hotel in tears with his hands covering his face.

Police say he managed to escape with an undisclosed amount of cash.
