Storm chaser struck by lightning
Being a storm chaser is fraught with risks like death and being struck by lightning.
The latter is exactly what happened to US wannabe storm chaser Scott Sheppard, when he attempted to capture video of a powerful thunderstorm in South Dakota.
Being a safety-first kind of guy, Sheppard was cluey enough stay in his car, holding his camera out the window.
Unfortunately, with nature being the unpredictable beast that it is, Sheppard was struck by lightning.
The bolt hit his arm, forcing the camera upwards towards the sky and sending specks of dust into the air.
Then the lightning travelled downwards, blowing a hole in the street.
Somehow Sheppard emerged relatively unscathed from the incident – he's got a sore arm but otherwise he's doing A-OK.
