Speeding drunkard almost T-bones ute in breathtaking near miss

Two US drivers are lucky to be alive and well after a breathtakingly close call on a Minnesota highway that saw them both a hair's breadth from total carnage.

Newly released footage of the September incident shows a silver pickup truck cruising down Highway 67 on what looks to be a fine autumn day.

But as the vehicle reaches the Yellow Medicine County Road intersection, a white sedan comes rocketing through the crossing – fast enough to become airborne off what is an almost imperceptible slope in the road – and almost T-bones the pickup.

In fact, the sedan did clip the other vehicle, but only just.

Unfortunately for the driver of the white car, the camera that recorded the whole thing happened to sitting on the dashboard of a police cruiser driven by Deputy Sherriff Marshall Doyle, who promptly made a right turn at the intersection and pulled the rogue driver over.

The fellow behind the wheel was arrested and pleaded guilty to driving while drunk.
