Seven-year-old attacks armed robbers at video games shop
When armed robbers burst into a store waving guns and barking orders most people could be forgiven for cowering in fear and cooperating — However silent submission was never an option for a fearless seven-year-old who, when confronted with such a situation, charged at the gunman unleashing a furry of punches.
The child was with his parents at an American Gamespot store in Maryland, on Friday night when two hooded men entered the shop with their guns drawn, NBC News reports.
CCTV footage shows the bandits heading to the register when the boy makes his move.
Using a toy he is holding as a weapon the seven-year-old swings at the one of the robbers and hits him in the stomach twice.
The thug then grabs the child and pushes him against a wall while his parents lie on the floor at gunpoint.
The bandits then flew the scene with cash and the store clerk's phone.
The boy's mother, who did not want to be identified, said her son is "tough".
"I think instincts come out in situations like that," she said.
The seven-year-old's father described him as a "brave little boy", a sentiment echoed by police, who praised the boy's efforts.
The robbers remain on the run.
