Robin Williams sober at time of suicide: coroner

Robin Williams' death has been officially ruled a suicide after a coroner's report found he was sober when he hanged himself.

The 63-year-old comedian was found dead in his California home on August 11.

The coroner's report, released today, said no alcohol or illicit drugs were found in Williams' system at the time of death.

Prescription drugs were detected in medicinal amounts.

Williams spoke about his struggles with depression and addiction throughout his life.

Known for his rapid-fire comic delivery and surprisingly soulful performances in films such as Good Will Hunting, his death triggered an outpouring of mourning throughout the world.
