Photo reveals married couple met as children

A childhood Halloween photo has led a married couple in the US to the shock discovery that they had met 17 years earlier than they both thought.

Jason and Jessica Roth of Florida had been telling friends and family that they first met at a nightclub during college, the Huffington Post reports.

Until a photo of a preschool Halloween party revealed the true origins of the 35-year-olds' romance.

"It was a pretty amazing revelation that despite me spending a majority of my childhood in Miami, we managed to go to preschool together," Mr Roth said.

The pair made the discovery about one and half years after they started dating while students at Florida State University.

Mr Roth stumbled upon the picture and suspected the girl dressed as Jeannie from the TV show I Dream of Jeannie was his wife, which she later confirmed.

The husband and wife said they had no memory of each other as four-year-olds.

They met when Mr Roth, who spent most of his life living in Miami, moved to Lakedale live with an aunt.

A year after finding the photo the pair got engaged and next April will celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary.

"Life is hard and sometimes our orbits get further apart, but then they come back together and I couldn't be more grateful to have such a wonderful partner in life," Mr Roth said.
