Online retailer under fire for ‘offensive’ baby clothing

An American online retailer has come under fire for selling baby clothes branded with “porn-inspired imagery” and offensive slogans.

Collective Shout, an Australian women’s right group, has criticised Cafe Press for selling baby clothing which includes slogans “Porn star for life” and “Porn star in training” printed on bibs and onesies.

Campaigner Caitlin Roper told The Independent some of the clothes promoted “pro-rape humour” and trivialised sexual crimes against women.

“I can’t believe I even have to argue that sexualised or porn-inspired imagery and slogans on baby clothes and merchandise is unacceptable,” she said.

Bibs on sale on the British site include baby clothing that reads: “Don’t worry, it only seems kinky the first time”.

In a tweet, the company posted a response stating: “We are sorry those images made it to the site. We have removed them and are reviewing the source”.
