MS-13 gang link to missing US teenager

The search for a missing US teenager has turned to his links with the feared MS-13 gang after his family received mysterious texts.

Relatives of Louis Germosen, 19, of Long Island, who went missing on June 29, received a potential clue to his whereabouts, the New York Post reports.

Germosen’s cousin was sent two texts on Sunday that directed searchers to a park and an address in Lakeview, New York.

Chillingly, the second text also referred to a pond.

“Check Both but … Check pond thoroughly,” the text read.

Germonsen’s family had previously been warned the teenager was spending time with MS-13 members leading up to his disappearance.

His father – Luis Germosen – told the New York Post his son was “probably hanging out with the wrong crowd lately.”

“The police said they are widening the search,” he said.

“My fear is…I don’t want to think about it. My fear is finding him dead.”

The notorious gang – whose members have trademark heavily tattooed bodies – grew from the Spanish neighbourhoods of Los Angeles during the 1980s.

It is now established through the entire US and makes millions of dollars through extortion, murder, human and drug trafficking and prostitution.

Police were unable to confirm any links between MS-13 and Germosen.

But the gang has been active in the area where the missing teenager lived.
