Newlyweds die in head-on crash with each other

A newlywed husband and wife have died in the US when their separate vehicles collided head-on.

Nicholas Cruz, 31, and Kristina Munoz, 26, were pronounced dead at the scene of their crash on Wednesday morning, 5km west of Odell in North Texas, the New York Post reports.

According to Wichita Falls Times Record News, the husband and wife - who got married in April 2013 and had three young kids - were alone in their vehicles at the time of the crash and neither was wearing a seatbelt.

The two cars collided as Mr Cruz came around a curve near the Marhard Pullet Farm where he and his wife were employed, police spokesman Tony Fulton said.

There were no skid marks to indicate either driver braked before the collision.

"This is a very narrow, blacktop country road and there are no markings," Mr Fulton said.

Investigations into the cause of the crash continue.
