Motion sickness mars high-flying wedding proposal

A romantic Californian's elaborate, high-altitude marriage proposal might seem sweet enough to make you sick, but spare a thought for the man himself, who ended up tossing his lunch right at the pivotal moment.

Darrell Hamilton Junior, a videographer, had stashed a sign popping the question in his cousin's yard in Reedley, and naturally had the ring on hand.

The idea, of course, was to ask for Rheanna Faye's hand right as the helicopter flew over the slightly botched sign – Hamilton had written "Merry me?" – but things weren't destined to pan out like that.

"I began to feel sick. I did not anticipate motion sickness," Hamilton wrote on YouTube.

"The feeling grew worse."

Indeed, and there is video evidence to prove it. Hamilton, all too aware that there was no stopping the rumbling within, handed the ring to his true love, but rather than gazing dreamily into her eyes he found himself bent double and chundering his guts up.

Faye, for her part, took the "involuntary protein spill" in her stride, comforting her beau with a slightly bemused look on her face.

The video has since gone viral, and happily Faye says she will "merry" Hamilton. Here's hoping the wedding goes a little more smoothly.
