Woman filmed devouring monster steak in record time

Molly Schuyler weighs barely 50 kilograms — which is why it's such a shock to see the US woman devour this huge hunk of meat so fast.

The competitive eating champion claims she set a new world record by downing the two-kilogram steak in two minutes and 44 seconds at Sayler's Old Country Kitchen steakhouse in Portland, Oregon.

After demolishing the steak, Schuyler offered a laidback thumbs up when told how speedily she had finished it — while continuing to munch on a side bowl of hot chips she somehow still had room to eat.

The previous world record time for eating a steak of that size was six minutes and 48 seconds, almost two and a half times longer than Schuyler took, according to YouTube channel Aaron's Food Adventures.

Just the day before her steak conquest, Schuyler impressed fellow diners at Portland's Mad Greek Deli by taking on the restaurant's food challenge: eating a 5.4kg sandwich, half a kilogram of chips and a large soft drink in 54 minutes.

She's the only woman ever to have completed the Mad Greek Deli Challenge.

Schuyler, who lives in Nebraska, told KPTV News that her seemingly bottomless stomach is "an unexplained phenomenon".

"I was just born that way. I started doing this about a year ago, and I guess it's like a stupid human trick."
