Michigan home explodes without warning after car ruptures gas line

US fire authorities have released video of the moment a house exploded into flames in Michigan.

A car crashed into the home on North Pennsylvania in the state’s capital of Lansing on August 2.

The driver fled and the family inside were evacuated after it became apparent a gas line had ruptured.

Dashboard camera released by the Lansing Fire Department overnight shows a red sedan crashed partially through the front of the house.

The home ignited without warning and blew the front of the home onto the lawn.

Three neighbouring homes were also damaged in the blast.

The video was released overnight as part of an appeal for information in the hunt for the driver.
