A longboard rider was tossed more than six metres into a poison ivy bush during a collision with a car during the filming of a stunt video.

A description of the footage, posted to LiveLeak, claims that the young US longboarder, Andy, intended to "bomb" a hill by barrelling down it as fast as possible.

The man recording the video warns Andy to check the road is clear before he speeds through an intersection — but moments later he is struck by the car.

According to the video's description, Andy was badly hurt in the accident.

"The skin on his forehead was peeled back, and his left leg was visibly broken in two spots, and had a large laceration on his left arm," the description claimed. "There was a lot of blood."

To add to his woes, his body was thrown six metres into a poison ivy bush.

However, when paramedics arrived they realised Andy's injuries weren't as severe as they looked.

"After 400 stitches, a s--t ton of staples, a broken leg and a case of poison ivy later, he's healthy and walking," the video description said.

The people driving the car that hit Andy were also unhurt.

Monster energy drink's logo is conspicuously displayed in the video, prompting some LiveLeak commenters to speculate the video is a viral marketing stunt.
