Las Vegas showgirls' fierce territorial battle

A pair of warring showgirls were caught in a unique display as they battled for a prime position on Las Vegas's iconic strip.

Dressed in little more than lingerie and bright plumage, the women were filmed squaring off against each other while amused tourists looked on.

Among the screaming, swearing and slapping it is hard to understand what started the fight but it appears to be a dispute over territory.

Like peacocks, the women rush at each other in a fierce show of power and supremacy.

"Step back. Step back. Step back," the smaller, pink showgirl screams at her crimson assailant.

"Why did you throw a water bottle?" the scarlet showgirl demands as she vanquishes her enemy and claims the spot for herself.

"Because you stole our spot!" the woman in pink squeaks as the fight dies down.

And then suddenly, the woman in pink knows she lost the battle and quickly makes her exit.

"That's it Vicki, let's go," she said and she and another bedazzled-pink lady strut away to find their own territory.
