High school quarterback bodyslams security guard

Shocking footage has emerged of a high school football star in the US lifting a security guard over his head and slamming him hard against the ground.

Jayru Campbell, the champion quarterback at Detroit Cass Tech, was arrested on Wednesday after bodyslamming the security guard in a school corridor.

Local prosecutors say they are reviewing charges against Campbell, who was earlier in trouble for throwing a punch during a semi-final game in November.

It is unclear what caused the attack but the security guard was treated in a clinic before going home.

The video shows a crowd of people gathered in the high school hallway at the end of school simultaneously crying out as the security guard hits the ground.

The unnamed guard is seen climbing back to his feet after the bodyslam, but does appear hurt by the act of violence.

Campbell has been signed to the top tier Michigan State University football team after turning down offers from Notre Dame and Alabama.

The bodyslam will likely put the up-and-coming gridiron star's sporting future in jeopardy.
