Good Samaritan driver almost becomes victim of crime

An eerie, unmarked roadblock stopped a man as he took a midnight drive down a New Jersey highway.

In the dashcam video, two large witches' hats sitting the middle of the highway came out of the darkness.

An unmarked sedan waits on the roadside without any hazard lights flashing.

The driver slows down, bewildered by what's ahead of him.

A pair of jeans comes out of the darkness just beyond the headlights and walks along the highway toward the car.

The driver crawls for the gap between the traffic cones, only to have the man in the darkness step in front the car.

The two edge closer as the Good Samaritan driver winds down his window and asks: "What's going on?"

The man on the highway creeps up to the window and reaches in his pocket as the driver asks: "Can I help you with something?"

He then realises what's going on.

He's about to be carjacked — or worse — so he slams his foot on the accelerator and gets the hell out of dodge.
