‘White people are terrorists’: Woman interrupts CNN broadcast on Charleston church massacre

A furious onlooker in the US has interrupted a CNN broadcast on the Charleston church massacre to scream "white people are terrorists" and demand the channel "tell the truth".

Nine people at the historical black South Carolina church were allegedly killed by white man Dylann Roof in what police have described as a "hate crime".

The shooting has been seen by some as further evidence of increasing racial tensions in the US in recent months.

In the CNN broadcast from the streets of Charleston, an African-American woman approaches the reporters and demands they talk about the anger in the community.

"We're mad! We're angry! Tell the truth!" she yells.

Off-camera, she can be heard saying "White people are terrorists, this was not a hate crime!"

She also calls reporter Don Lemon, himself a black man, an "Uncle Tom" - a charge she also lays at the feet of US President Barack Obama.

"Don, are you angry?" she asks.

The reporters eventually cut to a break, but not before the bystander has a last word.

"Black folks, get off your knees and stop praying," she says.
