Drunk woman arrested on flight for hitting on passenger

A drunk woman forced a US flight to be diverted on Friday night after allegedly making sexual advances towards a fellow passenger.

The woman was cuffed and escorted off the Delta Airlines flight from Baltimore to Salt Lake City after exploding into a violent rage when the passenger she allegedly hit on turned her down, The Salt Lake Tribune reports.

A passenger managed to film the ordeal, which shows the woman repeatedly threatening to "f---ing kill" the man who rejected her advances.

The woman continues to rant as the pilot apologises to passengers over the PA and explains that the plane will be making an unscheduled stop in Minneapolis to remove her.

A spokesman for Minneapolis/St Paul International Airport, Patrick Hogan, confirmed the woman was "very intoxicated" and was "grabbing at passengers" but would not comment further.

The woman could face federal charges.
