'Drunk co-pilot' arrested on the runway of US airport

US students headed to Philadelphia to celebrate Spring Break had to put their partying on hold after their would be co-pilot also got into the festive spirit and was arrested on suspicion of being drunk.
American Airlines Flight 736 was scheduled to leave Detroit just before 7 a.m. and land in Philadelphia around 8:45 a.m. on Saturday but was canceled after the co-pilot was escorted off the plane by police, WXYZ reports
Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers reportedly saw the co-pilot acting strangely and informed the airport authority.
Airport spokesman Michael Conway said the pilot failed a breathalyzer test at the airport before failing a second test in police custody.
The co-pilot was "detained this morning under suspicion of having a BAC over the legal limit when he arrived for his flight in Detroit," the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said.
American Airlines said it was assisting the FFA investigation, in a statement.
"We apologize to our customers for the disruption to their travel plans," the airline said.
