Donald Trump admits he thought being president would be easier

Donald Trump has admitted he misses his previous life because he thought being president "would be easier" while reflecting on his first 100 days in the White House.

"I loved my previous life. I had so many things going," Trump told Reuters.

"This is more work than in my previous life. I thought it would be easier."

On January 20 Trump tried his hand at public office for the very first time when he became arguably the most powerful person in the free world.

However, as he celebrates his first 100 days in office while looking back at a short list of achievements, the billionaire tycoon said he misses the simpler times of his old life and the freedoms he took for granted.

"You're really into your own little cocoon, because you have such massive protection that you really can't go anywhere," in reference to his round the clock Secret Service security and armoured presidential limo.

"I like to drive. I can't drive anymore."

The US president had previously denounced the complexities of undoubtedly the most important job in the world while discussing his attempts to amend the nation's health care laws.

"Now, I have to tell you, it's an unbelievably complex subject. Nobody knew health care could be so complicated," he told media.

Trump also admitted he had no idea the situation with North Korea would be so difficult.

"After listening for 10 minutes, I realized it's not so easy," he told the Wall Street Journal.

"I felt pretty strongly that they had a tremendous power (over) North Korea ... but it's not what you would think."
