Compton rapper claims to survive bullet to the head

A wannabe rapper in the US has achieved a fleeting moment of worldwide fame after taking a selfie video of himself claiming he had been just been shot in the head with a high-powered assault rifle.

Teriq Royal, from the notorious south-central LA suburb of Compton posted the footage, which he assures the viewer was taken moments after a random driveby at a petrol station, to Facebook last week.

"I guess I'm really a rap n-gga now," the blood-streaked teen says to the camera, apparently drunk with shock.

"I just got shot."

Royal then posted a picture of an X-rayed skull with the caption, "3 bullet fragments resting on my 3rd eye for the rest of my life", followed by skull and pistol emojis.

The alleged rapper is a prolific emoji user, often including the small cartoons to punctuate the ends of lines of verse he posts to his Facebook page.

Unfortunately for hip-hop fans looking for something new, these sporadically-posted rhymes and a handful of self-shot a capella videos are the only evidence of any creative work from Royal – aside, perhaps, from the footage above.
