Children as young as three to be fingerprint scanned at Disneyland

Children as young as three years old will be fingerprint scanned to enter Disney theme parks.

Technology using "finger geometry" has been in use at Disney theme parks throughout the world for more than a decade, with anyone older than nine required to scan their fingerprints upon admission, News4Jax reports.

The latest measure comes as a crackdown against fraudsters who had been using children's tickets to gain entry to the parks.

Until now, younger children’s tickets were more easily transferable because they had no finger images attached to them.

A spokesperson for Disney said parents not comfortable with their child's fingerprint being scanned were able to use their own on the ticket.
