Bystanders film brutal beating

A group of bystanders have filmed a mother being brutally beaten in front of her son and chose not to intervene.

Catherine Ferreira, the 27-year-old mother, is suffering from a broken nose, two black eyes and a concussion.

The assault was videotaped on Tuesday behind a McDonald's in Salem, New Jersey.

"There is so little regard for human life – by the actor and the bystanders," said Salem Chief of Police, John J. Pelura III.

Ferreira's 2-year-old son is the only person who tried to stop the attacker and makes several kicks in her direction.

Ferreira said that she was talking about the attackers dating life which is what provoked the attack.

Harris faces charges of aggravated assault and two counts of making terroristic threats.
