Police in the US have released the chilling 911 calls a terrified bride made before she was shot dead by her husband on their wedding night.

Indiana doctor Greg Samson, 54, killed his wife Kelly Ecker, 50, before turning the gun on himself following an argument just hours after their wedding on Saturday, WTHITV reports.

The panicked 911 calls Ms Ecker made before she was killed have just been released.

In the call the terrified newlywed tells the operator "he's beating the s--- out of me".

"Who is?" the emergency worker asks.

"My husband," Ms Ecker replies.

"He's got guns inside," she says before the call abruptly ends.

When police arrived at the couple's home they found Ms Ecker had been shot in the torso and head a number of times.

Her husband was found dead in the basement after shooting himself in the head.

Vigo County Chief Deputy Sheriff Clark Cottom said the newlyweds were in a heated argument before the tragedy.

"The investigation has revealed that there was a verbal argument between the couple toward the end of the reception, which carried over to the after-party at the couple's home," he said.
