US scrooge kicks kids out of Walmart for singing carols

A US scrooge has been filmed kicking out a flash mob of children from her supermarket for singing Christmas carols.

The group of high school students from Klamath Falls, Oregon were spreading Christmas cheer in front of Walmart’s Money Center last Thursday when a woman's voice came through the store’s intercom system demanding the students leave or the police would get involved.

"Did she just say what I thought she said?" a shopper can be heard asking.

"She said, 'I’m calling law enforcement or you have to go'," another woman replies.

"It’s Christmas," the first woman then says. "I’m in shock."

The parent who recorded the video, Stacey Kerns, then posted the video to Facebook, urging people to help it go viral.

It has received a mixed reaction on YouTube, where it has attracted over 125,000 views since being posted last Thursday.

Walmart is said to have cracked down on flash mobs after a series of labour disputes in 2013.

The Walmart manager has so far refused to comment.
