US prisoners in 'Shawshank' style toilet hole escape
Police are continuing the hunt for David Wayne Frazier, the remaining prisoner at large.
A manhunt is continuing in Tennessee for a prisoner who escaped from jail through a hole behind a toilet, in a feat resembling scenes from the film The Shawshank Redemption.
Police managed to recapture five other men involved in the Christmas Day break out from Cocke County Jail Annexe in the southern US state.
But one of the prisoners, David Wayne Frazier, 54, remains on the loose, reports wbir.com.
A spokesman for the local sheriff's department said six inmates broke out through a hole behind the toilet which led outside of the jail.
"After breaking through the hole, the inmates only had to kick through a tin door and climb a barbed wire fence to make it out of the jail," he said.
The stainless steel toilet rusted when leaking water damaged the concrete and bolts.
It left a hole which enabled the inmates to stage the jailbreak.
In an iconic scene from the 1994 film The Shawshank Redemption, a prisoner played by Tim Robbins escapes from jail through a stinking sewage tunnel.
Frazier "remains on the run and we will do everything possible to capture this individual and we will not let up until he is back in custody," the sheriff's spokesman said.
