US principal becomes viral sensation after having some fun in snow day video
A principal in the United States has become an unexpected viral sensation after he filmed a video of his ‘principal snow day’ as Storm Jonas battered the country’s east coast last week.
Principal Sean Martin of Waterloo Elementary School in Maryland told ABC news he produced the amusing video documenting things principals do on snow days as a joke for students, parents and staff.
The video features Mr Martin sliding into frame in the style of Tom Cruise in Risky Business before shooting hoops in the basketball stadium.
He then goes on to jump out of the school’s paper recycling bins, serve imaginary students in the canteen and deface the school with toilet paper before being berated by a school cleaner.
Mr Martin made the video with his 14-year-old daughter to say thank you to the cleaners, groundkeepers and staff who still come into the school on snow days to prepare the school for the students return.
The video has been viewed more than 500,000 times since it was uploaded to YouTube on January 25.
