US drill workers rescue motorists from raging floodwaters

A team of well-drilling workers have bravely rescued two trapped motorists from a flooded road in Arizona.          

Video shared to YouTube showed the workers atop their truck placing a ladder across to the couple stuck on their submerged Ford Bronco.

With the instruction of one of the workmen, the woman tentatively crawled across to the safety of the hood of the truck.

The trapped man followed and edged his way along the ladder, as the raging floodwaters continued to rush past him.

He then joined the woman, and along with their four saviours, the group reversed out of the flooded wash and back to the safety of drier terrain.

Local newspaper the Daily Miner identified the rescuers as local well-drillers, Jon Kaufman, Rafe Beacom, Bill Lott and Derek Penrod.

Mr Penrod told the newspaper he got a “kick” out of the dramatic ordeal, which unfolded on Tuesday (local time).

“I think it should be on someone’s bucket list,” Mr Penrod said.

“It’s a great feeling rescuing someone.”
