A US couple approaching their 60th wedding anniversary have an extra reason to celebrate after becoming grandparents for the 100th time.
Leo and Ruth Zanger, from Quincy, Illinois, welcomed baby Jaxton Zanger into the world on April 8, The Quincy Herald reports.
Jaxton is the couple's 46th great-grandchild and their overall 100th grandchild. They also have 12 children, 53 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
"The good Lord has just kept sending them," said Leo Zanger, who has been married to his wife for 59 years.
"We could start our own town."
With most of them living in the Quincy area, Mr Zanger said family gatherings require a rented church hall and no less than 25 kilograms of ham and 10 whole turkeys.
Austin Zanger, one of the couple's grandchildren, said the family is tight-knit despite its size.
"We're all really close. We get together a lot," he said.
"There's always a lot of interaction. We spend a lot of time with each other. I know there are a lot of families half of our size who only get together maybe once or twice a year."
And they are prepared for more arrivals.
"There's always room for one more," Ruth Zanger said.
