British Home Secretary quits

British Home Secretary Amber Rudd has resigned over the question whether she knew of targets to remove illegal immigrants.

Ms Rudd, whose department deals with UK immigration policy, was due to make a parliamentary statement on Monday. She was under pressure to quit over the so-called Windrush scandal, reports the BBC.

She has faced criticism over the existence of government removals targets, and her reported knowledge of them.
