Teen 'abused at celebrity chef's restaurant'

A teenage chef was forced to quit her job in a celebrity chef's restaurant after being groped and abused, a tribunal in the UK has heard.

Chloe Maisey, 19, resigned after just three months at the Hardwick restaurant in Abergavenny in Wales, claiming she was shut in a freezer and deliberately burned, Wales Online reports.

The restaurant is owned by celebrity chef Stephen Terry, who has denied the allegations made against his staff.

In a the sex discrimination suit Ms Maisey made 21 allegations, saying male colleagues rubbed fish in her face and forced her to get changed in front of them as there was no female change room.

"They stared at me constantly and made comments about my body," she told the hearing in Cardiff.

"They called me fat and made comments about my boobs."

She also said a male colleague "had slapped my bum".

Terry, a TV star, says Ms Maisey's claims are "outrageous" and said he did not get a chance to address them.

"I am a family man – if I felt like someone was treating my daughter like that, I would have been down on them like a ton of bricks," Terry was quoted as saying.

The hearing continues.
