Uni graduate called ‘left-wing loon’ and ‘biscuit short of the packet’ in job application response

A UK university graduate has been called a “home-educated oddball” and “biscuit short of the packet” in an email by a prospective employer.

Anna Jacobs told BBC News she was “furious” after she received an email from Tecomak Environmental Services inviting her for an interview yesterday.

In a series of comments below the formal invitation, Ms Jacobs from Kent was labelled a “left-wing loon tree-hugger.”

“Can’t get a job since leaving uni. Forages for mushrooms,” the unidentified office administrator wrote.

“Difficult to assess from her CV - might be very good but equally could be a biscuit short of the packet.

“Worth an interview if only for a laugh,” the message concluded.

Ms Jacobs said she had yet to receive an apology from the company.

Tecomak told BBC the email had been “taken out of context” but investigations were ongoing.
