'They were slashing each other': Mass panic as kitchen workers turn on each other at Sony Music London

Two people have been stabbed after an argument broke out between kitchen staff at Sony Music's London headquarters.

Armed police officers descended on the building in Kensington, central London, at about 11am on Friday local time and one man was arrested.

Neither of those stabbed are believed to be in a life-threatening condition.

Scotland Yard confirmed the incident is not being treated as terror-related.

Sony Music said in a statement that the building was evacuated after "two members of the catering team were involved in a violent altercation" at the Derry Street office.

Staff at the record company described the chaos that ensued.

"We just heard screaming and running and people slamming doors," one employee who did not want to be named said.

The kitchen workers were "running around chasing each other" and "slashing each other up", he added.

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said one patient was taken to hospital, the other to a major trauma centre.

Scotland Yard said evacuations took place as a precaution and one person was arrested.
