Trolls hijack Tom Daleys Twitter cover photo competition

If the internet has taught us anything, it's that outsourcing a task to the general public via social media generally does not achieve the desired result.

You know it and now British diver Tom Daley does too after he asked his 2.5 million Twitter followers for help jazzing up his cover photo for his profile.

The canvas that Twitter users had to work with was a photo of the 21-year-old Olympian sitting down with one knee raised and his hands joined in front of him as he stares into the distance.

The deadline for entries closed overnight with the winner to be announced on Daley's profile later this week.
