A Scottish politician is enduring the fallout of a nightmare TV appearance after she failed to realise the interview was being broadcast live and asked to start over again.

Angela Constance was being questioned on Sunday Politics Scotland when she started to stumble over her words.

"In twenty thousand and twelve … sorry, 2012, sorry are we able to do that again?” she says.

“I’ve just said twenty thousand and twelve."

"Off you go … we are live, by the way," Presenter Gordon Brewer relies.

A plainly shocked Ms Constance’s eyebrows shoot up at the news.

"Oh right, OK. Forgive me, forgive me. I thought it was a pre-record. Forgive me," she says.

Predictably, the blunder led to widespread mocking on Twitter.
