Facebook erupts over granny spinner

Video of a thug swinging a Romanian pensioner around as she screams in terror has been met with outrage on Facebook.

The video shows the young man laughing as he spins the terrified woman, who appears to be wearing a dressing gown, outside a bar near the capital of Bucharest.

The spinner, named by Facebook users as Eu Geo Offycyall (I'm Geo, Official Page), is then shown flexing his arms for the camera as his visibly disorientated victim stumbles off.

"Spin her more! Spin her more … run and catch her, do it again," his friends are heard shouting, before he repeats the joke.

The video, which was uploaded to the social media site yesterday, was met with angered responses.

"I don't know how people can like this! It is just ugly!" Facebook user Maria Myrabela commented on the video.

Another named Madda Dumitru said, "What happens in this video is not funny... may god help you. Maybe something like this will happen to you too."

They were not the only ones to take notice, with a local police spokesman confirming they were looking into the video to see if those involved should face assault charges.

But "Geo" was quick to defend the prank online, dismissing his actions as "just a joke".

"Why the f--- do you write these comments, you slaves? I'll piss on you! She wasn't dying," he wrote on Facebook.

"If you don't like it, I'll give you my phone number and you can call me."
