Drunk priest bites Greek police

A priest on the Greek island of Crete has bitten a police officer after being pulled over for driving erratically in reverse through the centre of Heraklion.

The priest, reportedly visibly inebriated, caused a slight accident driving backwards through several streets before police stopped him in front of the local court.

Enraged with being pulled over, he hurled verbal abuse at officers and bit one of them on the hand as he attempted to avoid alcohol testing.

Then he flailed at them as they arrested him.

The incident occurred on Sunday, according to news portal cretalive.gr.

The priest now faces charges for insulting the officers, resisting arrest and injury, its report said.
