Dog rescued from dam

A Romanian man who happened to be in the right place at the right time has rescued a puppy that became stuck in a dam in the Somes Mic river.

Video of the rescue shows the dog desperately trying to claw its way up the concrete walls but it's simply too high.

No doubt hearing the dog's cries for help, a passer-by braves the icy-cold water and coaxes the dog to an outstretched concrete platform.

After joining the man on the slab, the terrified canine keels and refuses to go any further, leaving the man with no choice but to grab hold of the pooch by the scruff of the neck and ferry him across the water and onto the river bank.

With his tail now wagging furiously, the pup stops for a moment before running and jumping right into the arms of his smiling owner.
