Cat survives after being found with kitchen knife protruding from head

A cat has miraculously survived being stabbed in the head with a kitchen knife.

The feline was found with the knife buried in its skull on Sunday in the Crimean city of Sevastopol by a local, who rushed the animal to a vet, German media outlet Ruptly reports.

“When I went to look for him I found him hiding under a bush and was shocked to see a knife sticking out of his head even though he was still alive,” the cat’s rescuer Lyudmila Alexeeva said.

It is not known who attacked the cat , nicknamed Zelyoniy or “Green”, but it appears to have been left unattended for a few days with the horrific injury.

The blade was surgically removed and Zelyoniy is now expected to make a full recovery.

The city of Crimea is a disputed territory, having declared its wish to join Russia from Ukraine during last year’s revolution.
