Bandmate pulls wedding singer's tooth with pliers before show

A wedding singer in the UK opted to have his bandmate pull out his tooth rather than walk away from a gig after cracking a molar just moments before he was due to take to the stage.

Wedding band The Sound was due to play at a reception at Polperro in Cornwall at the weekend when a particularly tough piece of crackling left singer Sam Johnson with one of his teeth hanging from his gums.

With the injury he was unable to sing but fortunately the band's drummer, Tristan Fry, had recently watched a documentary on dentistry.

"Tris watched a dentist program the other day and reckons this is going to be easy. Here goes nothing," the band wrote on Facebook.

After finding a pair of pliers in the back of their van and Mr Johnson necking a Jager bomb to dull the pain, the drummer got to work.

A video of the DIY dentistry shows Fry using a light on his phone to illuminate his bandmate's mouth and then pull the tooth with the pliers.

As soon as the molar comes out Johnson writhes on the floor of the van in pain but quickly recovered enough to perform.

"Fairplay to him - he's a proper lad," the band's bass player Aaron Morgan said.
