A truck driver in China almost crushed to death a scooter driver and his young child after failing to notice the pair at a set of traffic lights before making his turn.

CCTV footage of the incident shows a motorcycle and its rider sitting ahead of a 20-metre-long two storey truck loaded with cars at a set of lights in Taizhou in China.

Moments later, the truck lurches forward and makes a sharp turn while the rider remains stationary.

As the driver continues his turn, the rider and his scooter vanish behind the truck’s thick blue metal tray.

A reverse angle of the incident reveals the incident was far more urgent and potentially deadly than it first appeared.

As the truck topples the scooter it is starkly clear the rider is not alone and has a tiny child with him.

While the rider is able to jump free as the bike continues to be dragged and crumpled, the child is knocked to the ground and disappears under the truck.

Heart-stopping seconds pass before the panic-stricken rider rushes to the cab of the truck, frantically banging on his window for him to stop.

Miraculously, as the truck stops a tiny shadow moves from under the truck to show the tiny child crawling on all fours to safety.
