Have you ever wondered how the gigantic blades of a windmill are transported?

A Danish truck company has the answer and, even better, has posted a video online showing the mind-boggling logistics involved.

In the video, uploaded to YouTube yesterday, a 73m blade is carefully manoeuvred around a roundabout and onto a public road.

The base of the blade is attached to the front of the truck, while a trolley on wheels props up the tip at the rear.

Vamdrup Special Transport A/S worker Torben Busk Sørensen, who posted the video, said the special transport method had been patented by the company.

More than 40 percent of Denmark's electricity now comes from wind power.
