Tourist plane crashes into Siberian lake

Tourists visiting Siberia’s usually tranquil Lake Baikal were stunned to see a Cessna 172R plane crashing into the water with four people on board.

Video captured by the group of tourists shows the plane dipping alarmingly towards the surface of the water.

The tourists can be heard gasping as the plane hits the water, with one woman exclaiming, “F—k me it’s gone down”.

In a second video, a rubber speedboat and a catamaran can be seen speeding towards the crashed plane to help those on board.

“There was a young teen inside, I brought him to his senses, and he helped me get the others out,” Dmitry Sirik, the captain of the catamaran in the video, told Baikal-Daily.

All four passengers were pulled from the plane and survived the crash.

The passengers were treated at the scene by a tourist who also happened to be a surgeon.

The teenage passenger was in shock and two of the passengers were hurt, however the extent of their injuries is not known.

The plane, which now lies at the bottom of the world’s deepest lake, was used to give impromptu aerial tours of area, Newsbabr reports.

Russia’s aviation authority is investigating the incident, RT reports.
