An eagerly-anticipated world boxing title fight was famously interrupted on November 6, 1993, when a parachutist descended into the ring.
Thousands of fans had gathered at Caesar's Palace, in Las Vegas, to watch fierce rivals Evander Holyfield and Riddick Bowe slug it out for the world heavyweight championship.
But in the seventh round. James Miller, an American stuntman, now known as the "Fan Man," descended from the sky with a motorised fan strapped to his back.
But Miller's plan to land in the centre of the ring went astray and he ended up on the top ropes of the boxing ring before falling into the crowd, as security staff tried to calm the crowd of 20,000 people.
He was eventually freed and ejected from the venue as the title fight resumed.
Miller was later charged with dangerous and disruptive behaviour.
British and French troops seized control of two major ports in Egypt's Canal Zone on November 6, 1956 in what became known as the Suez Crisis.
The dramatic move came after the Egyptian government nationalised the company that owned the strategically vital waterway.
